Palm Beach County Medical Society Launches Opioid Education Program with Former DEA “Drug Buster” Bob Stutman

Three-Part Series to Start on June 25

(West Palm Beach, Fla.) – Bob Stutman, former head of the New York office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will be the Palm Beach County Medical Society (PBCMS) Services’ first speaker in a three-part series, Opioid Educational Seminars for Physicians and other Healthcare Providers.

He will speak on “COVID-19 and Substance Abuse Disorder” on June 25, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. via GoToTraining.  Register HERE.
Training ID: 560-933-548

The series is free and open to all health care providers in South Florida.

Stutman’s 25-year career positioned him as one of the nation’s highest profile drug busters and even an assassination target of the Colombian Cartel. Today he is frequent public speaker and media expert regarding the ever-growing prescription drug epidemic. He has appeared nationally on CBS News and PBS, as well as hundreds of national television shows and served as a consultant for major motion pictures, documentaries and television series. Honored by numerous law enforcement agencies, Stutman has traveled with the DEA to 73 countries and consulted with US Presidents about drug enforcement policies.

The three-part series is made possible through a three-year grant from the Health Council of Southeast Florida to support PBCMS Services’ ongoing Opioid Healthcare Response Initiative, which provides opioid education for physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Part Two: Ethical Implications of Opioids will be held on July 30, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. with a presentation by Kenneth W. Goodman, PhD, FACMI, FACE, founder and director of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy and co-director of the university’s Ethics Programs. The Institute has been designated a World Health Organization Collaborating Center in Ethics and Global Health Policy, one of 10 in the world.

Part Three: In Pain: A Bioethicist’s Personal Struggle with Opioids will be offered on August 21, 2020, noon to 2 p.m. with a presentation by Travis N.
